Indonesian Central Bank to issue Digital Currency?

Bank Indonesia assistant Governor, Juda Agung commented that the bank had been looking into the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) idea from the start of the year. But surely the decision made by Indonesia’s Ulama Council, who decided on a fatwa against cryptocurrency as its use as a currency is having an impact, why else would the banker say that a CBDC could be used to ‘fight’ cryptocurrency?
